Cotton has a very strong heritage across the world and it is always been the most sought after fabric. The fabric still reigns supreme in fashion fabrics & is classy, hygenic, eternal, comfortable, breathable and cool. Today’s youth are increasingly going for man-made fibres and are not aware about the benefits of the fabric. Considering India does not have the coolest climate, it is important to build awareness about the fabric.
I think we all have taken cotton for granted as a casual everyday fabric and forgotten how trendy and fashionable it can be? Cotton has been associated with big names from the fashion industry that has come up with new and trendy cotton designs. Competitions like “TeeZing” organised by Cotton Council International (CCI) have been conceived with the objective of developing positive outlook towards cotton, especially amongst the youth.
Cotton Council International (CCI) has announced call for entries for the second edition of its T-Shirt Design Competition TeeZing on the theme “My Cotton World”. Don’t confuse TEE-ZING with Teasing, they may sound the same but are quite different. The competition is not inviting trouble, but it is inviting each one of you to sketch your unique and innovative cotton world which will be then captured in a T-shirt. No matter which city do you belong to, we will catch hold of you in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Indore, Chandigarh and Ahmedabad. Participation in this competition could also get you face-to-face with your favorite desingers who would mentor you on how to develop a perfect design.
The top three winners of TeeZing will be awarded cash prizes worth Rs.1,00,000/, Rs. 75,000/- and Rs.50,000/- respectively. In addition, the best designs will be retailed by Flying Machine. The jury for this season will include leading names from the creative, design and fashion fraternity To increase your chances of winning , CCI has also allowed multiple entry options. The designs can be submitted from June 28th –July22nd through the website www.allaboutcotton.com or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. If that is not all, all of you could also visit your nearest café coffee day stores and sketch & submit one of your finest creations over a cup of coffee.
The competition was launched by CCI in 2009 simultaneously in 10 countries including India as a celebration of the ‘International year of natural Fibers”. It was named “TeeZing” in its first edition and was a huge success with around 6,000 entries.
With the coolest and trendiest fabric around, who would be able to stop imagining the chic designs and the cash prizes? I heard it and will surely have fun with cotton. What about you?
